so, we’re in the planning phase for our upcoming photography shoot with Jennifer Tai. she is a seattle-based photographer who is graciously going to help us visually represent our brand and initial selection of petit couture basics. our models are our own children – simone, sofie, julien, sofia and ava. we’re planning on multiple silly-fits and meltdowns…..all of which i’m hoping are captured on film (digital of course). i’m new to the model process, noree isn’t as she herself has been a model for years. we’re in the process of pulling together all of the details like how we’re going to style our models. they’ll be wearing some ‘petit couture’, but will need other details as well. we’ve almost locked on our shot list (what to shoot, how and who will wear it). we also have discussed locations and agreed on some local seattle icons that will embody our brand from an aspirational standpoint as well as serve as a great backdrop – rain or shine. in seattle, contingency plans are required for anything scheduled outdoors – it’s 50/50 at best.

for me, the shoot process is a really fun time creatively. and, seeing the end result is truly meaningful especially when you know, and love, the models. nothing that we’re doing right now seems like work. it is all very inspiring and we’re taking the process slowly and in stride with opportunities that come our way (as well as some that are discovered and nurtured). this is part of what i personally LOVE about petit couture right now. and, i feel as if it is kismet again in meeting jennifer tai. noree and i have stumbled upon so many great people and resources as we’ve been bringing petit couture to life……i cannot wait to see what our photos yield and know we’ll have a lot of fun in the process. the kids are excited and asking about the ‘photo shoot’ which is always a good sign! more later…..
